there is so much snow here.

and the sky is one big cloud.

when i was younger, i imagined that when it was overcast,

someone had just slotted a sheet of white printing paper in place of the sky,

or it was a sketch but they forgot to colour the sky in.

and i can't decide whether the snow softens or sharpens everything.

i think that the snow can be like a blanket - softening

but it makes everything stark - sharpening.

white on white to wear is also nice, but its better to wear in summer, so that way for one part of the year, the weather is white, and the other part of the year your clothes can be.

other opinions about snow?

suitcase space is so efficient. a suitcase full of everything

you need:

one spoon

one fork

one plate

one cup

one shirt

one underwear

one shoe

one suitcase and one empty room. terrific. perfect.

berlin space was cool.

space overseas is always cooler.

i also like airplanes, so minimalist, efficient.

today I am leaving to go on a school exchange to Germany for a month

and then I am having a holiday in Europe for another month.

basically I am going to be away for eight weeks.

I will try at every opportunity to update you guys on the overseas happenings,

if i don't, it's okay, i'm keeping a journal with sketches and postcards and stuff which i will scan when I get home.

It's very nice to see an ed with a unique concept and set, because really,

I really like religious influence. I really do. I like domed cathedrals and stained glass; reds and golds in paintings of Mary and Jesus; I like Rosaries.

But I won't pretend I'm actually religious or like that I would ever wear a crucifix, esp. not a cheap-as-shit one from Diva.

But I like what it looks like, where religion is prevalent in art, architecture, whatever. That's me being superficial, unfortunately.

PARIS FASHION WEEK SPRING '11

WHAT A WEEK.

normally I never talk much about fashion weeks, but this time I thought I would put in a bit of effort.

Anyway, this is what I saw and liked colourwise.

Firstly, it looks like print's not dead, with citrus graphics reminiscent of your grandmothers oilcloth table cloth appearing at Stella McCartney, at Rochas the textile had a vintage + Scandinavian feel and at Cacharel and Akris it was tropical, floral and abstract with some sweeeeet contrasting colours.

I also had a soft spot for the sweet-as-sugar pastels, nearly always in suit form. The palest pinks were sent down the runway at Stella McCartney and The Row by the Olsen Twins, as well as a more saturated pink at Cacharel. I especially loved the dip-dyed coats and Dries Van Noten, like those two-toned iceblocks I used to be able to buy from the school canteen as a primary school kid.

White and minimalism went hand in hand pretty much everywhere. Sharp white dresses at Akris, more flowing types at Chloé and perfectly paired looks at Celine, Dries Van Noten and Issey Miyake.

That being said, black also made it's appearance, mostly in sheer or tailored forms. I particularly liked Chloe's zips and studded belts, the innovative cuts at Hussein Chayalan, the pairing of a maxi skirt and a structured jacket at Hakaan and flowing sheer numbers at Rochas.

I am excited mainly for two things.

1. New russh. my good friend Jayne received it in the mail and let me read it on the bus and I nearly died on every page.

I think it's quite good.

I will buy it tomorrow.

2. In Sixty-three days I will be looking out a plane window on my way to a school exchange in Germany, and then will be going on a family holiday, around Ireland, London, and HOPEFULLY sweden.

oh man I want to visit scandinavia soooo bad.

OHHHH how i love russh.

you see, i used to read Frankie, in like year 7 and i thought i was all cool, and its a very nice magazine, but then i started wanting to read about something else.

I don't even know if you could call it a shoot, it's so raw.

She was in a Russh editorial a few issues back I think? Anyway the Ed was called ratbag and she was kind of dressed up, in a dressed down way, but still, I didn't like it as much as I like this.

I think I will buy Oyster over the weekend.

so guys,
i totally made the internet bill skyrocket,

so i have to just really cut down on the blogging,

even though my sister probably added to the bill with her club penguin or whatever.

i have found the most comfortable sweaters in the world.

mens sweaters from gazman, the V neck knit kind.

i bought one today, and the shop assistant looked at me funny,

but i don't care, because the sweaters are awesome

i just bought a pair of grey ribbed tights a bit like these ones, from Country Road and let me tell you,

they are quite possibly the best tights that i have ever owned.

i am currently wearing them with a massive vintage knit sweater from sweden (:
